According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 37.3% of injuries occurred during bathing or showering.  Even more importantly, for those of us (me included) who are approaching our "golden years", the incidence of falls goes up with each decade of life. 

Most fall injuries are (surprisingly) caused by falls on the same level and while standing rather than from elevated falls (e.g., from stairs).
